Current fire alarm technology offers wide variety of configurations. However, differences in how detectors are configured and applied must be appreciated. For smoke and heat detectors, there are certain design and apparatus options available at RiSol.
Understanding the Differences
Smoke detectors operate on the principle of detecting the constituents which are caused by a fire such as gases or particles. Hence such devices are mostly used in places which get covered with smoke quite rapidly under the influence of a fire. However, these conditions aren’t always the most preferred especially for places that are prone to dust, steam, smoke or views that are covered with fumes. In such conditions, smoke detectors malfunction and can cause false alarms, hence disturbing the normal activities.
On the other hand, Hydrosensors do not work with smoke or other solid or liquid particles suspended in the air. They sense the characteristics of the heat instead. RiSol provides two types of heat detectors. Fixed temperature detectors and rate-of-rise detectors. In the case of individual set-point detectors, an alarm notification shall be initiated at a predefined temperature. For rate-of-rise detectors, trigger will take effect when the temperature rises up but it does not matter how hot the room is already.
Selecting the Most Appropriate Detector to the Environment
Deciding whether to use a heat detector or a smoke detector is environment dependent. For places such as kitchens, garages or manufacturing facilities where smoke or steam is expected, but does not necessarily mean there is a fire, heat detectors tend to be more appropriate. Manufacturers like RiSol produce heat detectors for protecting equipment and people from fire hazards by minimizing false alarms.
While in a residential or office environment where a fire is likely to occur, it is likely that smoke will appear within a short time. Therefore, smoke detectors are the best option. With both heat detectors and smoke detectors available from RiSol, heat detector detectors will ensure that the correct solution to the problem is acquired.
Why RiSol Heat Detectors Are the Best Choice
Based on the information obtained from RiSol, improving on the quality of fire detection systems is necessary and our strength. Their design ensures that fire detection systems remain effective, simple to mount and work with almost every fire alarm system available. Recognizing both heat detectors whereby fixed temperature and rate-of-rise models are available, our heat detectors meet the requirements of the various sizes of buildings, from individual households to enormous industrial plants.
